Q. Will an automatic sprinkler system use more water than you are currently using?

A. No. -- In fact, an automatic sprinkler system may actually save you water. A well designed, efficient irrigation system applies exactly the amount of water needed by your landscape. You will never again have to worry about wasting water if you forget to turn off the hose.

Adding Mid Season Visits!

The purpose of Diamond Head Sprinklers performing a mid season visit is to minimize the costs that can arise from improper controller scheduling, plant growth, leaks, broken sprinkler heads and overspray into unwanted areas resulting in wasted water. The hammock the kids purchased for dad on Father’s Day is great for relaxing in, but it blocks coverage to the Hydrangea Limelight that was planted on Mother’s Day. You recently completed a new shed or moved your waste storage area to a new location and it is now situated on top of a sprinkler head. These are just a few issues that need to be addressed from time to time on your property. Preventative maintenance on your irrigation system can fix an issue before it becomes a major expense.

If you currently only receive a Fall Shut Down visit, our technicians never get a chance to review your site in the Spring and make any suggestions, improvements or much needed repairs to its operating efficiency. If you currently receive both a Spring Start Up and a Fall Shut Down visit, this mid season visit allows us to modify controller / timer settings and ensure accurate adjustment of nozzles and spray patterns. All of our technicians findings are detailed in your invoice should you decide to proceed with any repair or suggested improvement in the future.

Over watering, leaks and overspray from sprinkler heads have an obvious cost to water being wasted. Other expenses could include lawn restoration due to disease, soil erosion, plant replacement, mold and water damage in basements or outdoor structures.

Under watering has a cost as well. It can be caused by more than just controller / timer settings. Common issues are sprinkler heads that have stopped rotating, plant growth impeding spray patterns and pool / patio furniture locations.

Preventative maintenance can go a long way in maintaining an irrigation system. Many system owners don’t realize the importance of a regular maintenance schedule. We often receive service call requests when unpleasant brown patches appear on the lawn, plant material shows signs of stress or a leak / broken equipment begins causing water damage. Just like your car or any other mechanical device, your irrigation system requires periodic maintenance to prolong the life and increase the integrity of your valued landscape.

STOP Fertilizing Manually!

Diamond Head Sprinklers Inc. has successfully adapted the key delivery and installation aspects required for fertigation to residential, commercial and municipal landscapes, by being Ontario’s only Authorized Installer of the EZ-FLO Fertigation System.

You probably have invested a fair amount time and money on your landscape throughout the years. In addition, you also have an emotional connection and sense of satisfaction that comes from having a beautiful landscape.

Diamond Head Sprinklers helps you achieve that beautiful look by embracing a new way of thinking about fertilizing your landscape. No longer is it necessary to use common broadcast fertilizing techniques. You can now get better results for your landscape, while saving money and virtually eliminating negative environmental impacts. Fertigation (fertilizing using your irrigation system) is a process in which fertilizer is dissolved and distributed with water in your existing irrigation system, to gently feed the entire landscape during the growing period.

Our fertigation system carefully feeds the entire landscape with natural fertilizers caring for the soil and all plant life. The usual method of using synthetic fertilizer is like adding steroids to a plants system. This creates unhealthy shock and stress, facilitating harm to the plants infrastructure. Our fertigation system feeds with all natural bio-stimulants gently, with each watering cycle, giving the plant a healthier root system. This process makes the plant stronger and more drought-tolerant. Using our method, we re-introduce all natural micro-nutrients back into the soil, recreating the natural biology of the forest in your own yard. This way of micro-dosing virtually eliminates any fertilizer run-off so most of the fertilizer can be absorbed by the plant.

New landscapes mature more quickly, and established landscapes can resist attacks by harmful insects and weeds. With a Diamond Head Sprinklers installed fertigation system, your entire landscape receives consistent, no surge growth, resulting in a vibrant root system and a much healthier plant!

With the installation, implementation and proper management provided by Diamond Head Sprinklers, water usage can be reduced by up to 35-50% within one year, while making your landscape lusher than ever before. Fertilizer costs can be reduced by as much as 70-90% allowing the plant to absorb 100% of the fertilizer each time you water.

For more information on how fertigation can benefit your landscape, email us at info@diamondheadinc.com.
