Residential Estimates
Irrigation by Design offers all potential residential customers FREE estimates for all sized properties.
That is, we will meet with you to listen to your requirements and answer all of your questions.
We then guide you through the basic fundamentals of an irrigation system, the role it will play and the results it will have on your landscape.
We will then present you with some materials to choose from which will best suit your requirements.
Finally we leave you with our estimate package for you to consider once we conclude the appointment.
Since no two landscapes are the same we need to determine the best irrigation solution for you by gathering some data.
Before we go outside, we need to take a few measurements
(static and dynamic water pressure readings)
and determine the size of your home's water meter, service line, and tie in possibilities.
These steps are crucial!
Hydraulic
information must be gathered to accurately design and plan an irrigation system which will work properly.
Without this information, available water and correct pipe size to maintain
acceptable velocity
cannot be determined.
Next, we will measure the landscaped area to be irrigated and sketch a rough - scaled drawing on graph paper.
This step makes the installation process easier for you to understand, and also provides you with a reference to the location of the system's components.
It's yours to keep once the system has been installed and commissioned.
After the property sketch is complete, the next step is to place the sprinklers on the drawing, ensuring the best coverage.
Although we cannot reproduce the uniform water distribution of Mother Nature,
the next best thing is to incorporate the uniformity of water application methods widely practised in the industry by using
MPR nozzles
and the correct head spacing.
Next to be plotted on the sketch is the mainline and lateral pipe runs, valves and valve box placement, and controller and rain sensor locations, and finally a legend and approximate scale.
A proper Quotation/Contract Agreement is then prepared as part of the estimate package.
It details all of the manufactured equipment including components of application,
(i.e. rotors, spray heads, bubblers, micro-systems, drip-line etc.) pipe, solenoid valves, hydraulic information, and of course the cost of the project.
Being a binding document once it is signed and accepted, what we present to you includes all terms and conditions of sale.
No one likes surprises, so we make it clear what you can expect from us and what we expect from you.
A copy of the system's major components spec. sheets are also provided, along with a copy of our liability insurance coverage, customer references and a tip sheet for homeowners entitled "How To Hire A Contractor"
which gives you some insight on what to expect from a professional irrigation contractor.
We will then close the estimate with a final walk through of the head locations with you and answer any other questions which may arise.
Irrigation by Design also offers CAD (computer aided design) plans by special request.
All plots are designed using AutoCAD 2005 and/or RainCAD 8 and are available in either bond or .dwg file formats or both.
Additional design fees apply for all CAD plans and are not standard issue with residential estimates. Please contact us for details.
