Electric Solenoid Valves

Without getting too involved in the operation of an electric solenoid valve, they are the heart of the irrigation system. Simply put, they open when they receive a signal from the controller and allow water into the lateral line of sprinklers, which in turn waters your landscape. After the cycle is complete, the controller stops the signal and the valve closes, stopping the flow of water to the sprinklers. Each valve is designated as the point of entry into the individual stations (or zones) through which water passes to get to your lawn. The number of stations dictates the number of valves the system requires and well as the size of the controller. Some of the more useful features of a valve include manual internal bleeds, allowing the user to activate a station without filling the valve box with water, and flow controls, giving you the ability to reduce the flow of water to each individual station.
